System schematic of a system with a heat pump and a solid fuel cooker as it heat sources, and two central heating zones with radiators and a DHW cylinder as its loads. The solid fuel cooker is a part of an open vented system while the rest of the system is a sealed system. The DHW cylinder is the heat leak of the solid fuel cooker, but since it has two coils, it can also be heated by the heat pump when the cooker is not burning.

To connect the two different system types an NRG Link is used. The NRG Link ensures that the solid fuel stove has an open system as required for safety reasons, while still being able to transfer its heat to the sealed system.
